Barcham Sewing Machinery are a family-run sewing machine business that has operated from our landmark premises right in the heart of colourful Whitstable on the East Kent coast since 1975.
Currently we are the only members of the Sewing Machine Trade Association in the area and have a wealth of knowledge to offer you.
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
Looking for a new sewing machine? We stock a wide range of well known new and used branded names and ancillary items for domestic and industrial purposes as well as all related parts and accessories.
Need your machine repaired or serviced? All our repair, servicing and restoration work is carried out in the workshop to the rear of our retail shop.
We also offer a call-out service to schools, colleges, government agencies and commercial outlets, so if you are interested in our services, please contact us.
After accessories or haberdashery?
We stock a good selection of haberdashery items to complement your sewing including cottons and threads, needles and pins, scissors, bobbins, belts etc.
Within Kent we cover all areas including Whitstable, Herne Bay, Canterbury, Faversham,and Sittingbourne
Barcham Sewing Machinery, was established in 1946 by John Barcham Snr from a small independent workshop.
John was repairing and rebuilding industrial machines in the East End of London where he served the then vibrant sewing machine trade.
John Snr went on to open two shops in London, one in Leyton, the other in Deptford. He expanded the industrial and repairs side of the business and entered into the domestic market.
